EP 092: Finding Purpose and Pursuing Creation Outside of Motherhood with Hannah Gold

It’s been a month since I last released an episode, and not only is this episode a very special one that I’ve been looking forward to sharing with you for a while – it’s also my last guest episode on the podcast. This episode is with someone I’ve known for around 10 years. She first came to me as a client for support on her fertility journey, and has taken a path through life that is nothing short of remarkable, becoming a best selling children’s author with her first book soon to be turned into a movie. Let me introduce you to Hannah Gold. 

Hannah grew up in a family where books, animals, and the beauty of the outside world were ever present, and is now passionate about writing children’s stories that share her love of the planet. Her debut, The Last Bear, was a Sunday Times bestseller and won a number of national and international awards, including the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize and the Blue Peter Book Award in 2022. She is also the author of The Lost Whale, Finding Bear and the recently released Turtle Moon which was another instant best seller. 

Hannah’s books have sold over 250,000 copies in the UK alone, and been translated into 27 languages around the world. She is an ambassador for Whale and Dolphin Conservation, and lives in Lincolnshire with her tortoise and her husband.

I loved this conversation with Hannah because we talked in depth about how her fertility journey led to her author journey, and the depth of her writing that has been enhanced by her life experiences including infertility.
